[1st August 2016] – For the first time, leading holiday company First Choice brought its famous all-inclusive experience to British shores at the UK’s favourite family festival Camp Bestival, to celebrate the best of summer music. X Factor stars Reggie ‘n’ Bollie helped mark the occasion, getting the party started at the First Choice Holiday Island tent, whilst festival founder Rob Da Bank made a very special surprise appearance, performing an exclusive DJ set to close the weekend.
Pop duo Reggie ‘n’ Bollie opened the Holiday Island stage with a session of chart topping hits, including a performance of their debut single “New Girl”. Camp Bestival curator DJ, Rob da Bank performed his only solo set of the weekend, wowing the crowd behind the decks, playing some of the best summer tunes for the festival finale.
As visitors to the First Choice Holiday Island kicked back on a real-life beach complete with cocktails, palm trees and deckchairs, the holiday company also brought its Holiday Village resort entertainment programme to life at the Dorset-based festival. Guests were treated to special performances from well-loved costume characters The Widgets, and the specialist Stage Academy team taught children the moves to the latest summer hits, while the Kids’ Club team recreated the family fun of the Holiday Village resorts with face-painting and circus skills.
As part of the partnership, First Choice invited the Great British public to share their favourite summer tracks for a chance to win family tickets to the festival, plus the opportunity to DJ over the weekend, celebrating the greatest summer tunes, battling it out in First Choice’s Summer Sessions DJ-off. Visitors also got the opportunity to flex their vocal talents with some nostalgia karaoke.
The partnership with Camp Bestival marks the climax to the company’s Summer of Music. Earlier this summer, First Choice challenged beach baritone and sun-soaked superstar, David Hasselhoff, to produce the ultimate summer song as part of its ‘Summer Hoff Music’. However, The Hoff’s quest to create the perfect summer tune didn’t quite go to plan, so First Choice turned to musical experts, Camp Bestival to continue the celebration.
Jeremy Ellis, Marketing and Customer Experience Director for First Choice, said: “Camp Bestival has proved be the perfect partner to help us champion summer music, and bring a taste of the all-inclusive Holiday Village experience to the UK for the very first time for festival-goers to enjoy.
“Music plays an important part of the holiday mix and evokes memories of fun times, so we hope the guests at First Choice Holiday Island enjoyed the first-class entertainment and take some great, new musical memories away with them.”
First Choice Holiday Island was hosted at Camp Bestival, Lulworth Castle in Dorset between Friday 29 and Sunday 31 July.
